About Eric Finley

Eric Finley is a photographer from Encinitas. His work, inspired by the ocean, landscapes, and wildlife, is a reflection of his time on the Australian coastline and back home.

 

Eric moved overseas in 2019 for a shift in perspective. What he thought would be one year abroad turned into nearly four, where he covered most of the surf-filled Australian coastline in a ’98 LandCruiser. A series of unique jobs and incredible people both fueled his experience and contributed to his artistic vision, making his photographs more than just images but a narrative of a journey—a blend of nature and human connection.

 

Moving back home after nearly four years abroad, Eric appears to have rediscovered the treasure he sought all along. Through his lens, his photography captures the essence of both his life in Australia and his return to the native landscapes of California, now enriched with new perspectives.
